What's happening around our place New Years Day. Some of us trying to relax, others being annoying.

May each of your chickens lay two or three eggs a day for the whole year. And may your goats never get out. One is as likely as the other.

Happy New Year to you too!
That is one patient donkey(?) to put up with those four pointy little hooves digging in to its back.
What's that green stuff - grass?!
We just finished clearing at least another 15 cm of the white stuff off our driveway.

That's it I'm jealous!!! Today is the first day in a week we haven't plowed and shoveled! It was a gorgeous sunny day tho. If every other day of winter was like this great first day of 2017 I might be converted to a winter lover ;)

Just snapped these on way back from the coop...In case you banana belt folks forgot what it looks like. Actually it compacted a bunch today so at least it shouldn't be blowing around.

That is not a donkey. She would be so upset if I told her you said that. She is a mini horse. And mothers and puts up with the goats, spoils them like a gramma when they are little, and when they get bigger she puts up with them sort of, like in this pic, once in a while lays her ears back and takes a nip at them, but not often. Yes that is grass, but like Al said, wish it would stay cold for a while. Got a broody hen right now and I am not setting her. Put het in a cage with no bedding tonight, no food or water, probably let her out tomorrow eve. Not foolproof, but works to break them usually this time of year.

I bet that poor wee horse regrets her spoiling at times like that! What a patient girl. Goats are like obnoxious toddlers lol
How are your other chicks doing? Must be getting big now.

Yes there is a downside to it, unfortunately. It won't be any good for the water situation either. You still have a chance to get some more snow. Still a few months of winter left.
