Some of our calves so far this calving season.
We actually had another one born this morning that we had to help a bunch, it was coming out head first with only one leg so we had to push it back in and find the other leg and bring it forward...I took pics but not everyones cup of tea so I will stick with this does of cuteness instead!

Nice pcs. I miss calving time. How are your cows with calf to handle? Any you have to really watch out for, put you over the fence in a hurry? You got dogs helping? Weather is not bad anyway, shouldn't have frost bitten ears, that was always a problem this time of year out west.
I have not read this post from the beginning, so you may have answered already, but what breeding are the calves? I am thinking the coloured muzzles and ears might be speckled park? Shorthorn? Interesting colouration anyway. And oh yeah, almost forgot, nice chickens. Best in the new year.

All of our cows are easy to work with, we cull the ones that aren't. Our current bull is a White Galloway cross hence the white muzzles, would love to have some speckle park in the heard...someday. We had a blue heeler that was going to be our working dog, but she died of unknown causes very young and we haven't replaced her. Our heard is small enough, under 25-30 so we don't really need a dog too badly.Farrier1987 wrote:QR_BBPOST Nice pcs. I miss calving time. How are your cows with calf to handle?
