Just think of all those poor people that have to shake out their boots to check for snakes and spiders... I sure love Canada! I'll take the cold!!
I must say, if I shook one of those guys out of my boot, I wouldn't hang around to look if it was pretty ;)

Hahah no doubt Rick, I'm glad the worst creepy we have here are ticks! yuk!!!

I just looked up a news article about the stolen reptiles? Man that sucks! But they are all like a 15lb boa constrictor... like it as just as dangerous as the venomous. Give me a break! Boas make great pets and I had a 21 year old female that was 12' long and weighed 65lbs. Now that's as big as they get and she was a sweetheart! I hate how they always portray these snakes as evil dangerous animals, which they are not.

I have to agree with you there. Although I would not have a spider for a pet Im not afraid of them. In fact I have to squish them or relocate them outside because hubby screams like a 2 year old girl when he sees them lol. Snakes however are another story altogether. The snake population in my yard has BALLOONED in the past two years and even though everyone tells me they can't hurt me let me tell you the twisted ankles, bruises and cuts I get from leaping, jumping, twisting in air to get away from the sneaky things do hurt. Last year a huge and very aggressive milk snake stalked me daily. Great...Now I'm going to dream about snakes tonight :(

When I lived in the west end of Ottawa, there was this head banger dude in one of the town homes that shared a hallway with us, he kept two crocodiles ( or alligators, not sure) in his bathtub. They were big enough at that time that they could have swallowed a guinea pig, or taken your fingers off.

I used to be scared of spiders until a guy at work brought in a cute and fuzzy friendly thing for me to handle. It was like velvet! I will NOT allow spiders to be killed in the house either. I miss my garter snakes form Orillia, don't seem to have many snakes here.

I have snakes in my yard, and I think that shows a good balance in my yard but when they sun themselfs on the porch and don't want to move when I go out. I'm not happy!
