Ha! Ha! Protect the flock, not likely, my roosters are the first to run for cover leaving the girls behind, the girls see them run and follow them.
Mr Lucky faced off against a Coopers? Hawk one time, spurs in the air etc. He also stood up to a grey Owl while the girls got into the coops, he only survived that one when Joan came round the corner!

Lucky girls to have such a protector!
My boys are maybe too sucky but I never worry that they will attack me, which is a plus in my mind.
Here's my older rooster so handsome but a big suck.

I had a bird yard full of growouts: 50 white meat birds, another 16 young laying mixes, and a call duck and her three ducklings. I was in the yard feeding and saw her with head twisted looking up with one eye. High above somethig was circling. She called out a "quack" and every bird ran full throttle for the shed. What was circling didn't come down but I learned that no chicken translation was required for that "quack".

Diligently follow the path of two swords as one. Percieve that which the eye cannot see. Seek the truth in all things. Do not engage in useless activity.
