Evacuation!!

Ha! Ha! Love this thread, yeah we have a load of spiders this year, more than I've ever noticed before and a load of baby garter snakes under the porch which of course don't stay there. They wait till I'm up and about and sun themselfs on the back porch and walkway. I'm not too happy about this as I have to watch where I walk so I don't step on them. I'm not scared but that would be yucky!!!

Evacuation!!

I was bitten behind my ear by a nasty spider once. No idea what kind. My whole ear swelled up x2 and the skin turned black as night. The pain was so bad I couldn't turn my head or brush my hair, and my skin peeled and oozed for about 2 weeks.
I still like spiders though :D
Leeches. Leeches give me the willies.

The brown recluse bite can be very nasty with that necrotising toxin.
A few years ago we went to Grenada and had geckos in our room, cute as anything. Day we were going home one disappeared. Got back to Orillia and next morning found the poor thing halfway up the wall. Must have stowed away. Don't think it wanted to be in Canada in January. It went to our local lizard guy.

Evacuation!!

Well, I'm a sucker for punishment. Here I am reading this before bed. EEEK! Skin turned black?

Hate hate hate leeches!! Went to a local river in the spring and just walked in water. Level as high as our knees at the deepest. Came out covered in silver light coloured leeches. Small but to me in the moment they were going to suck every last ounce of blood out of me. Had my daughter with me and she's like oh mom stop, I'll just burn them off. I'm like HELL NO! So she starts to burn hers with a lighter (yes she smokes) and they fell off. I subjected my self to torching the things off me, but I couldn't shower enough that night when we got home.

I should let you know I'm shoving smarties in the mouth by the handful as I type this. Hahaha. It's how I cope.
Geckos don't bother me .. They don't bite right?

Sandy-next time use salt. Painless and no torching. Lol.
I still dont like ticks. Pretty much everything else is kinda cool in some way or another. Lol

Politics: Poly-lots, tics-blood sucking disease carrying nasty critters. Lol makes sense to me

LOL it really depends on the species of gecko. most are fairly docile especially the more common ones such as leopard or crested gecko, both are extremely cute and love to eat spiders! but a lot of the other geckos mostly just avoid people and run and hide. I was expecting that reaction from a tokay gecko but I was wrong. almost as fast as I put my hand in it was latched on on to it. man was I ever wrong. LOL. but the first 2 geckos I said are incredibly great and easy to care for lizards plus Iv never seen one ever make an attempt to bite someone. look those up and remember they love to eat spiders. :-)
