You retain rights to your photos but by posting them here you also are agreeing to giving rights to PTO to remove or alter these pictures (size adjustment for example) as needed. To maintain memory usage at a low level we are entertaining deleting photos after a certain time period which at this point will be determined by the time when we run out of data storage capacity.

Curious hens...
The main flock of Wyandottes is just across the fence from the Chick run, and it's funny to watch some of the old hens stand on the railing and surveying the youngsters , I can almost hear them critiquing the young "chicks".....
I tell you in my day......

Curious hens...
I'm at the stage here too...the younger birds in the free run during the days with the older hens in the pen adjacent...the staring going on is stupid funny..wonder what will happen when they blend..the pecking order setting up is always interesting

Curious hens...
I like to combine flocks in a place new to everybody, but this year will not have the space, another 2-3 month to go, I might combine them in a different way, makes it much easier then trying to bring new birds in to an established group on "home ground"
If I move everybody around they get a bit distracted and less clannish.
Although not sure who I am kidding they seem to remember their hatch mates 3 years later

Nope..gimpy is a hen i believe...its the hatch mate...went down to the pen the other morning and sure enough...cock a doodle doo....sigh...i don't know all that much on Ameraucana development ...gender physical features are coming on slowly..but beautiful bird
