I call them something like crap hawks. theres an island out in the water at camp that wasn't there when I was a kid because the water level has dropped a lot. covered in crap from them, its soooo loud and its a good fishing spot, but can't stand it for very long.

We call them poop birds...and they sure are not any kind of chicken I want around!

My uncle always called them beach chickens, first time I ever heard that was from him. I think they are a beautiful bird, lovely colouration on them and when I hear them call, I think summer and the beach. To me thats a good thing, with anything too many cause problems.
