I get to beat up Ford because I was once a Ford driver.
Escort, Taurus, Trac. All of them crap, but drove Ford because my dad was a big Ford guy (still is).
Every once in a while I'll send my dad some meme that totally gets his goat every time! His sense of humour is like the suspension in the Ford 250, tight.

This is in his inbox for this morning.

well guys, i LIKE my new ford :racer:
i haven't been found on road dead yet. and it's been over a year now! :rain:
i do like what they did with the NEW ecoboost engines...the older ones were awful.
I get way better mileage than the equivalent truck in the sierra or the silverado. and the seats are comfy on my back :yippiechickie:
so there. LOL

(yes, i know all the ford jokes, and yes, i have driven ford for a long time, and yes, i have resembled most of the ford remarks-however i have a ford repair place closer to me than an hour away, and i have 7 year bumper to bumper warranty....so i will take it. with 6 years left).

AND my truck is IDENTICAL to one of the local OPP unmarked trucks. amazing how many people freak out when they start to pass me in the country and then think i'm a police vehicle. LOL

Love my 250 Power Stroke. Way better on fuel than my 5.3 Sierra ever was. Put it on cruise at 125 and went to North Augusta last year and was sitting at 12L/100 when I got there. Runs about 16.5L/100 when trailering load is around 15000lb (total). 800+ft.lb out of the box too.
I believe your picture depicts two completely different classes of trucks there.
I'd like to see a Chevy with 2T in the back and no air bags. LOL

Gotta say I love my Chevy minivan. I can get either the dive gear, feed or whatever in it and it drives well in winter. The Dodge truck has "had some work" and is way too powerful for snow LOL!

Ross started it... So you're at a restaurant and your waiter is a "little person" (midget). When the bill comes, do you pay him under the table?

I had a Dodge grand caravan for years. LOVED it!! Was fantastic driving year round. Bought it used for $10,000 with 20,000k on it. When it retired to Charity it had over 300,000km on it. Hard on gas, but heavy like a tank.

My HC Silverado that I drive gets around 10-12L/100km. (Lowest is 9.4L/100km) Depends where I'm driving. I drive like I own a truck not a sports car, meaning I understand gas consumption is entirely related to how you drive and what you drive. Translated, I believe that means I drive like an old lady. I got almost the same mileage in my piece of poop Equinox that I absolutely HATED!! What a piece of crap that was. Traded it back in a year later. If I were to drive a SUV, admittedly it would be a Ford, not a Chev. (Ssssssh, don't tell anyone). Never will I drive a SUV from Chev/GMC again.

Anyways, Bert & Ross. Cheeky and cheesy!

The problem with driving it "soft" is the engine gets full of carbon. Once in a while you have to step on it and make it rev to burn out the carbon. The unburnt carbon robs your power and fuel economy. I've proven this true with all my vehicles. My dad has a Subaru Baja (4 doors and a small box) w a 2.5l four cylinder. The thing didn't move when you stepped on it. I drove it a week when I needed a small truck. Pedal to the metal almost every takeoff. On day four the thing moved, like an extra 20hp showed up and its run better ever since. a lot of people with new VW's often change the turbo at 100,000 due to lack of power. Some mechanics do an "Italian" tune up: pedal to the metal for a good run and this will solve the problem. They work great in Germany as people run them hard on an autobahn.

From Reddit "Wednesday, January 22, 2014
Recently, My wife's Mercedes 3c had a rough idle. Enough to turn on the engine light. After having the trouble code checked, my mechanic (independant) suggested the above mentioned procedure. With Lucas oil gas additive and prem gas. Not only was it fun to do, the engine now purrs like it should. Just be sure to rev to redline, then backdown with engine brake."
