The guineas loose in the summer are great, no feed dish guarding, fine with the chickens but come winter when you keep them in the barn is when you see behaviors. They don't squack all the time but as soon as they see you they start. I found they were better when kept in a pen by themselves and where they couldn't see me, a lot less noise. There are a lot of really beautiful colours in them such as coral blue which is a true blue not the Grey colour that with chickens we call blue.

They don't free range in the winter? I don't keep anyone in.
Can they bunk with chickens?

Ours stil free range in the winter but there is minimal insect and plant life to devour.
They do love the Duck food.
They share a coop with the Chantecar's so they don't get bullied much.
There are 3 Duck/Chicken feed bins put out each day.

As Doug says they could easily stay outside but not here at my house, the neighbours would object. They would go after their bird feeders.

you got er Keegan! iv seen your pics on fb and noticed that you have been extremely lucky in finding a lot of our native species. Iv only seen a handful despite always looking! I caught a 6 foot fox snake when I was 12, only one iv ever seen, garters, ringneck and the tiny easter brown. thats it, thats all iv ever found. I sure wish people would just leave them alone or just slightly relocate them even if its just chasing them into a safe spot.

I've never found a fox snake but I've held a captive one and the only snakes i haven't found here are the fox, grey rat, queen, and the blue racer which is only on one island now out on lake eire that their on. Everything else I've found. but i wish people would leave them alone one thing i love is when they say a snake chased them its just so funny cause for one thats likely BULL and two whats the worse it will do to you EAT YOU LMFAO!!!!.

the best thing to do if your scared of snakes is to just walk away and if its in your yard DONT!!!! kill it i can't stress that enough its probably just passing threw, your safer then if a dog ran into your yard lol.

I love birds and chickens and what not but i love reptiles and they are in big trouble from social media and from the general public, so be smart and be safe :D
