No rabbits here. I like them but I go bright red wherever the fur touches me!

Re: Good Morning 2024
Lucky I don't have any chickens anymore.:)
2024, year of the Dragon, not sure why I thought it was rabbit :)
Doesn't look like a good year for me and DH as far as horoscope goes, I would like to say can't get much worse then last year, but of course it can always get worse, so not saying it.

Re: Good Morning 2024
Hi Everyone!
Happy holidays (a little belated....sorry about that) and a very happy new year! I'm pretty glad that 2023 has been kicked out, and hoping 2024 is an okay year. Alas, my sis is not doing well, and I'm just glad that she made it to the new year and got to spend christmas at home. It was not certain that she'd be out of hospital for christmas, but there's not a lot anyone can do now for her, sigh. Cancer sucks. like REALLY sucks. So it's a bit of deja vu from just about 2 years ago when my dad was in a similar place. Lots of visiting and spending time while we can.
That and cleaning the horse stall and getting the ducks settled in their outside coop with a waterer inside another water bucket inside another pan on the floor to catch (hopefully) most of the spilled water so they aren't wet all the time. Ducks are messy! And the chickens are all in the barn and cleaned and fresh deep litter. It's been super warm (I'm quite enjoying that honestly)! Managed to get a full OA treatment set done on the bees before 1) cold weather and 2) killing the vaporizer....um. oops. Oh well. Trying to figure out this retirement and investing thing since all conventional rules about the markets seem to be thrown out the window since covid happened.....
Teaching again this coming term, a couple of courses. Will be nice to do that again. Students have a lot of good energy for learning things, and sometimes i don't....lol.
Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday/christmas/whatever holiday you celebrate at this time of year! We've opted to downsize on the birds (64 ducks to the freezer earlier this fall!) with everything going on. 9 ducks (that is about 7 too many i think), and only about 25 chickens now....and those same 2 ancient turkeys. I think i have to admit the turkeys have entered "pet" status. Molly is still puttering around, and enjoying the soaking wet cool weather (she's weird)...maybe the vet can inject some common sense when she does the vaccines tomorrow. LOL. I'm looking forward to some drier weather so maybe the horse will dry....lol. We actually contemplated kayaking the day before christmas! (but didn't)
