Friendly chickens

Post by labradors » Wed May 11, 2022 3:41 pm

I met a friend for coffee at a rural restaurant yesterday and, when we returned to our cars, she noticed two chickens walking towards us in the parking lot. They were very friendly, and allowed me to pet them. We continued to talk and when I opened my car door, the white legbar jumped in!!! She allowed me to pick her up, and I put her in the hedgerow, hoping that she would head back home. She made us both smile :).

Maybe they were trying to escape being used for dinner in the restaurant. :help:

I have a hen who, sometimes, runs to me for protection either from the rooster or another hen. She and another hen prefer to have their feed on a coop roof away from all the others. We call her CC for Chicken Chicken. But she does not like to be picked up, which suits me just fine.

Oh no Shnookie! I never thought of that! I would have taken them in a heartbeat, but that would have been stealing :(.
