This is for @Ontario Chick . I am now giving her the title of Warrior Queen. SHe is awesome! I'll leave her to comment if she wishes but as a word of advice DON'T CROSS HER!
Why Thank you, I thought it said " DON'T CROSS HEN" ! I guess I still have chickens on my brain !!!

This is for those who still remember my "Wetland Neighbors " saga,
in 2019 new house was built on a property abutting ours and on very edge of designated wetland, when the rains came and it filled with water, the said neighbor insisted we are causing the wetland !!!! and we allow them on our property so they can clear the "blockage" !!! to which I said NO !!!
They actually wouldn't take a NO for an answer, and I wouldn't budge,
it went so far that I had to hire a lawyer, in 2020.
It has been quiet for a while until few weeks ago , when they seemed to start again, but this time there was some back and forth with other negbibours, somebody called the police (not me, I think they are busy enough ) and yesterday there was an e-mail from Mississippi Valley Wetland Autority, sent out to all the property owners abutting the wetland.

This is just the more amusing excerpt ...

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Please be further advised, that as these are natural features, water levels will change and will vary. There will be periods of the year where flooding or standing water will be present on your property and there will be times of the year where it will be dry. Please be mindful that as your property contains wetlands, the water table is higher and therefore, more prone to the retention of water. Unless direct development as defined above has occurred within regulated areas, the variation in the water table is a natural process and should be left to fluctuate as required.

Finally, the interactions between neighbours fall under civil action and the Trespass to Property Act which are not within the MVCA's jurisdiction of function. We note that MVCA has limited staff resources and administers an area of 4000 sq km. The onus is on property owners to understand rules and regulations and it is not the role of MVCA to mediate further misunderstandings. We hope this email provides clarification on the role of the MVCA, as well as the regulatory requirements of the highlighted properties.

I went and told the turtles that we were right !!! ;)

Anyone want to sex a chick?

I am 99.99% sure she’s a pullet.

Also, Is it an Easter egger or an americauna?
Got the chicks from a neighbor, just mixed breeds sold to me as meat birds.

If it’s a hen I may keep her in the henhouse instead of freezer camp. :-)
How old?
The brick red feathers on the shoulder are suspicious of a boy to me...sorry. i hope i'm wrong. definitely not an ameraucana. That would be a solid easter egger....if it lays coloured eggs.

Well poop!! I haven’t heard a crow yet… I have it in with the hens, we shall see.

My neighbor ordered 2 leghorns PULLETS from
The feed store this is what she got….. Are these pullets?!?! I’ve never had these birds before 😂 what a dramatic comb
Sorry @Bobbi we might have interrupted your query, not sure if they are pullets, never had a breed of chickens with a single comb, as they tend to freeze in the winter.
But I am sure somebody has experience with leghorns.

They look like leghorn pullets. Production type leghorns are housed in heated barns so there is no risk to get frostbite, but they can get hot in the summer and the comb helps to cool the bird.

I am a bit surprised that feed store would sell only 2 birds ?
Leghorns are egg laying machines, somewhat lacking personality, no danger falling in like with those birds ;)

I'm in Northwestern Region doing underwater inspections. Birds I've seen... Crows, a glimpse of a little bird (Finch size) and a glimpse of a Robin sized with a flash of white. And a little chubby duck far away. Very busy no time to investigate further. Diving helmut costs $16,000 Dropped by a amethyst mine. Currently in Nipigon. Some photos of my trip so far.

OC. Making myself sad reading all the stuff about the Queen on Facebook.

I don't see your picture so well. Is that your new flock of white peacocks?

Linda
Hey are you trying to make me cry ?
Something went terribly wrong with my White Peacock breeding program colourwise, but as far as feeding and housing cost, a bargain !!! ;)

Returned day before yesterday. As we were driving back to our hotel the Engineer in Training (EIT) said her gum hurt. Mmmm the pain was getting worse. Called my mom (retired nurse) on how to proceed. She said gargle with salt water and go to dentist as soon as you get back to Toronto. We returned to the hotel at 11 pm cleaned out 2 weeks of living in a rental car. Set our alarm for 4 am. At 2:30 am she woke up in pain and her face was swollen on one side. Caught the 7 am flight, went to dentist, got antibiotics, ate really good Thai food and relaxed for the first trine in 2 weeks. We were sad to leave the magnificent mostly untouched wilderness but glad to be back home.
