Oh how I have MISSED you ALL! Life Update
Things in my world have changed drastically. The husband, dog, farm, & animals are all Gone.
Being in a small town with total strangers during Covid has it's challenges. Thankfully I have great neighbors & everyone is friendly
The renos are Constant & I am grateful to have something that keeps me busy, but can't wait til they are OVER
(last month was membrane, Big O and weeping tile around house,
this month was new roof, new eaves & downspots and painting windows and doors)
I want to sew, garden, and "Girls just wanna have FUN" It will happen eventually
I tried my hardest to stay friends & help hubby renovate etc during our separation
Once we moved out of the farm, he cut all contact with me completely
I have to accept the things I have no control over & keep moving forward
Can't comprehend 49 1/2 years together & it ENDS 100% but happens
It has been quite lonely at times and last week I said enough was enough
Someone was rehoming a small rescue dog and Bella has changed my world
I didn't realize how much I talk / care / feed & tend to my dogs until now LOL
I'm waiting word to see if the NEW bi-law which bans poultry will be over turned
I was told by my agent & also by the home inspector birds were allowed
They and other residents in town had no idea a new bi-law had been passed,
It was a BAD day to learn I was not allowed even a handful of hens.
I LOVE my house, and I am adjusting to my new life...I feel Blessed!
I miss Some things about my old life, and other things i do NOT miss
I DO miss this site, and the friendships I have made.
You were there for me during the most Difficult time in my life
Seeing chickens right now is hard, so I hope I will have my birds back SOON
I hope ALL is WELL with EVERYONE!!!! Miss you

Well, there is one for the Universe answering, couple of days ago I was wondering how your New life was going in our altered environment.
100% cut may be the less painful in the long run, even if it doesn't seem like it now.
We have wrapped up our poultry enterprise after 40 years, and aded new pup to the fold, so things are somewhat balancing here

YES I think you are right about that. Accepting what IS, makes more sense.
I LUV pugs! (all dogs actually) Pretty cute way to deal with Covid.
Seems like most of the world will have a new reality.
Better to find a plan B that fight it. Nice to hear you are well

You also have to be persistant as hell but polite and actually demonstrate things when people don't believe you e.g. management. I had a 3 generation dairy farmer convinced that chickens produced something like her cattle slurry. You have to go to all the breakdown of poo and ways to manage it. On one occasion I had to walk out of a meeting when the Planning Chairman was being extremely rude to me. He was censured later but I have a temper and didn't want to lose it!

Oh My WLLADY are you Sure you want pics?
OK u twisted my arm LOL
There was a concrete walkway around the house. The heavy slabs all tilted toward the house.
They were removed, then a large trench was dug around the house for the Weeping tile, Big "O" pipe & membrane.
This summer, my basement flooded from 5 areas. The worst was the N wall where the electrical panel is.
I had a sump hole dug, 2 fans blowing on the panel all to no avail.
After all the waterproofing, the basement still flooded.
This was bc the eaves had separated from the roof line
(the eaves was Used when installed & now is old, rusted & leaking)
Once the roof was done the eaves & downspouts could happen.
The downspouts fed into an Uncapped Cistern in the basement!
They now feed into the Big "O" pipe & exit down the hill in backyard
Interior renos are constant, but I had to pull back some
My arthritic hands were starting to hurt pretty bad.
BC of Covid, I am doing pretty much all the work myself now.
But that is FINE with me, will keep me out of trouble, ummm Maybe.
I figure there is ALL winter to work inside, no trip to Italy any time soon LOL
