Marketplace about Amazon returns

I watched Marketplace this week. They tracked what happens to the items that get returned to Amazon. Most end up in the garbage, even if there is nothing wrong with them. They also travel miles going from one place to another. It's an enlightening show, but quite depressing if you care about unnecessary waste and the environment.

I read the Marketplace article about that. Quite a shocker for sure! I was so impressed with the way that Amazon makes it SO easy to return things, as I had to do that recently. Now to hear of all this waste is very sad. In the future, I will think twice about buying clothes from Amazon (which might not fit).

Most of the time they don't go to waste. They are put on pallets and sold to liquidator warehouses such as VDC in Thorold. Anyone including you can purchase them for use or resale. here is an example

There's an auction site called Auctionmaxx, it's on the highway 400 just south of Sheppard before the 401 and and that's all they have is the stuff that doesn't get back and/or "lost" in the mail, I've found lots of cool stuff for cheap, a lot if stuff sells for 50-80% off retail prices
