Finally a hatch

Out of four peahens, only one successful hatch. I guess we were lucky with that given the crazy spring and summer weather on top of how finicky & crazy the breed is. Usually have at least 25 hatch by now. What is totally strange, is the peacocks have dropped their tails and totally ended the season. Normally that doesn’t happen till August. Our younger male (8 yrs old), had his dropped by June end. Mr Peabody, the elder, started last week. As we basically free range with night lock up...I think the birds cycle well in step with nature....crazy birds finally in step with something as crazy as them
