talented hen

Post by KimChick » Mon May 04, 2020 2:55 pm

This morning, I witnessed a line-up of hens on a ramp, waiting to use one of two laying boxes in a certain coop. Keeping in mind there are 9 other roomy laying boxes, plus 3 smaller ones, at their disposal. Sometimes, there are two hens in a laying box; this is probably one of those times.
Just had to post this. I'm not sure which hen has this skill, but it's a good one.

Believe it or not, those are fresh fine shavings in there, just put in yesterday. Doesn't take long for the birds to mess in it!

So... when collecting eggs again today, I'm wondering what the heck those dark spots are in the photo. There was no poop in either laying box. I guess it's just one of the wonders of technology and lighting. I checked and stirred and double checked. Nothin'. And that's the way, uh huh, uh huh, I like it, uh huh, uh huh.
