How are you using all that free time?
Re: How are you using all that free time?
My mom made some quilts that she thought had some ugly fabric in it and said no one would want it. When her grandkids were over she let them each pick out a quilt , the ugly ones went first. She was so surprised, but I told her everyone has different tastes.

The quilting always gets dropped the moment garden defrosts here, but once outside there will be no free time left, even when not digging and planting, sitting in the garden admiring ones handiwork is a great occupation :)

Isn't that the truth, @kenya that actually inspires me to look at the fabrics again, since rule number one is no more new fabric, I could simply put together different patterns of the same color, pretty sure there is one Red and one Blue quilt in there, and just do it without worrying if it will go with anybody decor. :)

Re: How are you using all that free time?
With the lockdown and restaurants closed I made a new friend. This 30 year old is an ultra marathon runner (125km) and is outrageously fit and was getting bored working out in his garage so I invited him over. Now I pay him $20 per day, he comes over twice or three times per week (2 or 3 hours a day). So far doing firewood, gonna get him on fences and other stuff. Plus he gets to play with my toys - snowmobile, tractor etc. (not the chainsaw, thats too dangerous) I'm working my tail keeping him busy. I buggered my knee a month ago so I still hobble but I'm moving. The rest of the time cooking, cleaning, and doing paperwork as Carla tries to run the church from home and zoom online meetings.

Baronrenfrew - if you have a log splitter, that is not too dangerous a tool; I have used DH's.
Kenya and Ontario Chick - With quilting and applique, I am happy with smaller projects (kinda matches my small space!). "More power to ya" with your large quilting projects!
I take quilt blocks or a block from a large pattern and incorporate that into a shopping tote, even if I have to reduce the size. Or I make a tote with some applique or both that and a quilted section. Those are my plans, anyway!
I have essentially finished one of two XL zip totes a la duffle bag style. Just need to serge some raw edges.

I might be reaching a desperation point, yesterday I repaired all my barn jackets and a vest, for some reason they all had L shaped rips on them.
I do enjoy the opportunity to bake and cook and do laundry whenever spirit moves me, rather then waiting for 7pm or the weekend cheeper rates.
