I also think that a huge problem especially at the beginning was the mixed messages with different authorities saying different things. This confuses people terribly especially the ones who are now frightened little bunnies. There was a canoeist out on the Rideau in a mask and gloves!!! We feel like we're living in a Movie - specifically "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes". There is a chap who goes round saying "TOMAYTO" and everybody goes berserk.

There is no balance any more. Had to go to LifeLabs for a test (may already have said this) and even with an appointment the infection control SUCKED! Didn't go down well when I told the lady (quietly) what was wrong.

I agree: good example is that the use of masks was initially dismissed as being pretty much pointless; i.e., "you can if you want, but ... . "
Fast-forward to now, it looks like the expert advice appears to be moving towards mandatory wearing of masks in all indoor public places. So, first the message was that you were an idiot for wearing one, now the message is that you're an idiot if you don't.

Perhaps he/she was taking the opportunity to get used to wearing protective gear for extended periods? ;-)

Or the same government saying different things:
March 12 - go, enjoy March break!

March 14: close public schools
And then lockdown a few days later.

@BobG , sorry to hear about your DIL and hoping that she will recover soon. 4 months in hospital with this virus and still it's got a hold ... that's just awful!

@BobG Hope she gets over it soon. People who have had it say they aren't the same afterwards, just don't feel as good as they used to.
