I thought I was under control....

Post by Penny » Mon Feb 03, 2020 8:04 am

Turns out, I was just in hibernation mode regarding my flock. Apparently my patience with my broody hens is at an end as I just bought a brooder....now to select the perfect incubator and hatch a chicken of every breed! :jumpy:

I will get the pics when my 2 broody hens let them start moving around. Looks like i have 2 silkie paints, 1 showgirl(buff) 2 partridge and 1 black or blue. Happy with the results!

One of my crazy silkies has chicks, I am not happy about it but she's at my husband's shop so at least no chicks in the house.

I didnt have any broodies until June last year. I only kept 8 of my Ameraucana chicks for myself and could have sold twice as many as I did...hence the brooder and soon incubator. lol...maybe I should just hatch some silkies first and make my own incubators. lol

I swear baby silkies are the cutest things ever, even more than turkey poults!
