Surprised you guys aren't buying from a breeder rather than hatchery birds.
It's one of those "for everything there is a season"
I no longer have the energy to look after a large flock of birds and process cockerels the way we were when hatching our own.

To keep birds in the way I want to, which is happy, healthy and well looked after, I need to start with sexed chicks.
Not avare of any breeders in my area, who offer that, so the next best choice is a reputable hatchery.

To quote somebody way smarter then me,
found the correct quote ;)
If we want things to stay as they are, things will have to change.”

I put in an order with them, we'll see how it goes! Some Plymouth Rocks, Welsummers, Cream Legbars and Black Copper Marans, pretty exited about it!

I was very happy with my Barred rocks and Gold Laced wyandottes last year. I did have one die the next day after it got a bit squished by the others on the way home but that is to be expected sometimes. They all seemed healthy chicks!

Thanks @Killerbunny, glad to hear it. I figure once I get these under my belt, I can be more selective and get future chicks or hatching eggs from some local PTO members!
