Too much choice, too much temptation. It's a shame the d'Uccles are only straight run. Or maybe not. Eyeing the bantam Brahmas ... and many others. sigh. No room. Probably a good thing.
I noticed that they've added quail to their list, but they don't actually have any for sale this year. Good thing I still have a few males in with my hens, so come spring, another mixed bag of colour varieties is possible.

I am getting 5 Easter Egger sexed females for a little egg colour! Hoping at least 3 are girls since it's tricky to sex small numbers. So many of my girls are getting on a ways.

I am seriously considering that for next year.
Will not be hatching this year, but that is about maximum time we can go without adding new birds and still have a reasonable supply of eggs, so PP and Easter Eggers are a definite possibility for next year.

Yes I suddenly realised that although the turkeys are great for chickens I only had 3 young birds and 10 biddies! Even dear old Frank is coming up for 4 this year and he's the baby.

Surprised you guys aren't buying from a breeder rather than hatchery birds.

Last year I got a few BR cockerels from PP for meat birds and was pleased with the result. This year I will need a couple of new hens to join my mutt egg layers. I only bring in adult birds from a few very select people (you know who you are) and I haven't done that in a while once I decided not to go for show chickens and concentrate on my turkeys. Those are in house bred or from one other breeder only.
