Good morning!! Its sunny again!

Yesterday, I somewhat cleaned out my garage, but it just looks that way, because I moved some chairs out... going to get the rototiller out and till the potato patch. I'm going to put in a row soon. Maybe after this next rain coming....the patch I am tilling has had oats sowed on it last fall. I always have potatoes growing every year I miss, so I figure all will be fine. If they happen to peek out of the soil, and a frost will happen, I will just lay straw on top of them. That will give us at least one row to eat early. I will plant the remaining potatoes around May 1.

I remember the year, it was a tad nicer in temps like this, and I planted some peppers out April 1st in tires. Around the middle of June we were eating peppers. As the plants grew, I had to add tires, and if it was going to be frosty, and it was a few mornings, I covered the top with a heavy blanket! I also put my onions in and a few broccoli, and had them all picked and froze before the bugs end of June.

My house is starting to fill up with plants! I'm running out of room and just seeded two whole trays with other stuff. A few herbs, seed potatoes (from actual pelleted seed--30 of those), and a whole flat of peppers. I wasn't going to seed so many peppers again this year, because I have so darn many but people are going awol now, wanting plants to raise their own food. People should always have been growing some sort of garden I think not wait until you have a calamity. Many things can grow in pots and other containers, and peppers are one of them. Lots of variety of tomatoes happy in a big pot. Heres a picture of some of my plants.

This is in the living room. Geraniums on bottom and some hot peppers and petunia's on top

These are some petunia's, the wave petunia's... I have to get them up in the greenhouse for more sun. I did that with the snapdragons a few days ago, forgot them, (have to get them acclimated to the hot sun...) and they were a little wilted. I put them on the bottom shelf of the greenhouse, and they bounced back.

This is the lettuce I planted in a window box, and some in Tims cups. I'm going to seed lettuce in the garden today also. The wind-blown from last years plants (I let go to seed for the bees) are all growing haphazardly in the garden now.

These are a few early sweet peppers I started Feb. 18th. They have flower buds already, and I will put these in pots and set out on the porch on nice days the wind isn't bad. Always winds here still.

So.. here I sit, when I must get to the barn. Cats are waiting and the tractor will be set up for me to split more wood. I have split ALL the wood here myself this winter, and want to do a little each day. I don't burn wood anymore (two other houses do, with sons Jeremy and Dave in them), but it keeps me in shape I guess. Both work, are still working, and as long as they can bring wood up to me, I am happy to work by myself. I have filled the wood shed by the wood shop, split a pile when I ran out of a place to put wood.... filled 4 skid contraptions Jeremy built... and now working on a row out in the old orchard, where the horses used to live. I will take pictures later if anyone is interested. lol.

Have a great day!

Finally checked the pictures on the game cam today. These are from almost a month ago. Maybe 2 separate ones, one minute apart. Haven’t bothered the chickens or quail, yet. Hopefully it stays that way! Looks like it was around 9 or 10 in the morning (the time isn’t set right, apparently), which is surprising to me-they’re usually more of a night critter, I thought.

Having trouble telling if a lynx or bobcat, if a Bob dUsk and dawn usually. They usually eat mice, rats and chipmunks and likely won't hassle chickens. I liked having ours about because our rodent problem disappeared!

I’m thinking lynx because I feel bobcat are a little more southern? (I’m close to Sudbury) I do have a lot of rabbits and grouse around, so hopefully they’re happy with those!

Good morning, sun is shining and everything looks so much better for a moment...
last two days had a coffee on the patio, makes the wold feel almost normal,
although I am a bit worried that by the time this is over there won't be a tree standing anywhere around here, because all the men who own a chain saw were out in full force yesterday, cutting like crazy, which is too bad because the old snags also have a role to play in the nature of things.
Still no flour and baking powder available so apparently the women are baking while the men are finding solace in making as much noise as possible.
I must say, I am starting to get bored with my own cooking.
Stay healthy!

Good morning!
As I sit here at my computer, I can hear the tunes being played out in the garage.
Finally reupholstered a wooden footstool (that was here when we moved in). Of course it took no time whatsoever, but it was next on my list.
Next on the list is to paint "Fresh Eggs" on a sign that DH made. I assume those of us who sell eggs are still doing so?

Yup, still selling eggs, customers pay by interact and pick up at the end of driveway.
"Contactless pickup"
Had 11 eggs yesterday, may be a record :)
