Hello everyone... good morning! Its raining. Hard.. sheets, and wind. Course, I cleaned the house on Saturday... had to, been almost 2 weeks.... and then got tired of no grab and run food around here, especially for breakfast, so made oatmeal muffins yesterday, while moving soaker hoses etc. I guess if you want it to rain, you go out and water the hell out of everything.

And of course, when you cut hay, it rains. We would have had a lot of nice alfalfa that would have baled today.... and we have already baled some hay that got rained on. We had 16mm of rain, some during the night, and some during the next day, that someone on the next concession over, didn't get! I guess thats summer rains for you. Usually we are the ones under that bubble, that never seem to get it. But the corn and soybeans and wheat like it... and need it. The corn is WAY over my knee now... forget the 'knee high by the first of July" thing.... its usually almost my head height by then.

Gary is coming along... he had a set back when he went into the hospital with what we know now was sepsis..... and when his mom died in hospital on the Tuesday (after the Sunday when he was admitted)... she was 93.. and for the past 3 weeks, had been steadily going downhill... he/we thought he was going to die the same day. His blood pressure plummeted, had to be on oxygen, his feet swelled and turned absolutely black and blue, like cows tromped on them....(after the huge blisters appeared, and broke at home.. when he came home with the IV pump antibiotics on the Friday after being admitted)....throat closed....couldn't swallow (due to a magnesium drink he had 3 glasses of?).... back on blood thinners.....his back was so sore the morning we took him in... with bladder spasms...(we suspect a horrid UTI due to catheter and such), so we know the kidneys were infected (after the fact)... and he lost ALL the mobility he had gained with getting mostly off the walker and using the cane. He could barely walk with the walker, and had to use a bedpan when he was at his sickest. So pathetic to see. Hes so so so tired of the catheter, he HAD been leaving the leg bag on 24/7... the crap we were sent home to read said: DO NOT SLEEP WITH THE NIGHT BAG ON!!!, So, after this hospital stay, he changes out the leg bag for the night bag, every night, and of course, changes it every morning after his shower. His regimen of syringing out the leg bag with warm soapy water... rinsing, hanging... and vice versa with night bag..... wiping the ports with alcohol swabs.... blah blah blah is wearing him down. BUT!!!!

We opted to go for a surgery, that is going to be done at a private clinic, by the urologist whose been looking after him all along. To wait for the TURP surgery (its an elective one), is a year to 2-3 years?? A friend of ours told me about a procedure called rezum...and its costly. Thousands in fact... and after I called his office (friend has the same urologist), I got a consult appointment in 2 days!!!!!!!!!!!! (which go try and get a specialist appointment without waiting months....)...and we talked it all over, and Gary seems like a good candidate for the procedure (PSA levels good)... no lumps/bumps on prostate.... and I guess its done in a room, takes like 15 minutes, they take needles (have to have a spinal or some other pain management).. go up your... you know.... and stick them into the prostate and get it a shot of hot water/steam therapy. It damages the prostate and he will have to wear a bag for a week or so... he will slough off junk from the procedure... and then hopefully get rid of the catheter, which is the goal.

First, he had to go make appointments for bloodwork and imaging. He did both, bloodwork June 8th... imagine of prostate, bladder...have to have a full bladder... ha ha ha, with a catheter inserted.....and an imaging app. for July 2. Well, then.... he went to a walk in clinic in Waterdown, and got the bloodwork done, so that was out of the way. Then we get an email, that a rezum opening was coming up for June 23rd! Did we want it? Of course, but the imaging app. wasn't until July... so phone calls to family Dr.... and the urologist secretary.. to try and bump that app. up was TEDIOUS to say the least!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Then. He got an imaging app. for June 8th. (he cancelled the lifelabs one)... at 11am. They phoned me the day before, to remind me. He goes in, and goes to lifelabs. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. They said.. no, you have an app. at 2:30pm. (original bloodwork app... seems it WASN'T cancelled), so he leaves. He goes back at 2:30pm... and seems it WAS/had been cancelled... and that was when they told him he had to go to imaging, two doors down the hall for FRIG sakes!!!!!!!!!!!!. (ever since his hospital episode... and he WAS delusional that Sunday morning..... his mind has NOT caught up with his recovery, and he can't remember things, etc..... and I am getting so SICK of trying to do for him, calls/incidences about my mother in LTC... falls, covid shot app. dates.... going visiting there/at dads.. cleaning/groceries/visiting him (half an hour from the home)... 3 hour drive.....and shes not good... basically not eating, drinking much.. problems from that..... seems Gary's executor of his moms will with a nephew....AND I'VE BEEN DOCUSIGNING AND READING stuff pertaining to that... so basically taking over that crap... as he just just c a n n o t..... doing all the stuff that I like/need to do, as in Gary can only now feed the dog, and pill her...... the damn grass never stops growing, no matter how dry/wet its been.... my sister and her GD military demands on what I need to do in regards to mom, informations SHE Wants, but cannot call, and ask, because, well, GEE... I'm power of attorney with my dad... and they won't give her any information??????????????????????? And I know right away when she calls me, that its a 'business' call, because she has that TONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.. sometimes I hate her muchly......I've been babysitting for Dave, because they both work (not today, Jess is off), and Sawyer is doing online schooling... and he needs someone to sit on him, while hes glaring at the screen trying to learn.... making lunch for both of us.... babysitting the odd time for Melissa, while she runs for groceries (good, cause she gets mine)... or like last Sat. they went to a restaurant with friends on a patio somewhere... and this farm sale isn't even going anywhere yet, and my taxes have been dropped off at the accountant, like 3 weeks ago, and haven't heard a word (half way to my parents for GOODNESS sake)..... and I really really want to jump off this FAST moving train at high speed, because I just don't know when its going to slow down.

I did hatch chicks... all with EO dad.. so I have some EO hens... so I will have some pure girls... mostly the moms are EE crosses..... I did it in my back room here, 2 bators in the room that has everything in it from office/bookwork computer/printer/boxes of papers etc.... pantry, barn clothes/washer/dryer/dog/cat food.... garbage can.... all my pots/pans/baking stuff.... I couldn't even really get to it to candle the eggs, just did it once.. and put the questionables on one side.... never got back to them, and just dry incubated/dry hatched, and got 53 live chicks... 41 eggs in one bator, 24 in another... (I did take 3 clears out of the candling)... and they are in the barn of course, no room for the brooder box, and they all have done well. Lost one.. and there are still two with the big eyed syndrome... kinda stupid chicks... I really should off them, they just sit with their eyes closed, because all the other jerks peck their eyes... (sometimes I hate chickens).

Just lost my OLD royal palm tom, he was old... I'd say 10 years at least... and still have ONE red palm hen I got from Brebis years ago, and a Royal hen. The Royal is failing somewhat... but the red hen looks like she did the day I got her. Shes even laid a few soft shelled eggs this year, LOL.

I got my garden in, but glad I waited until late in the first week in June to get stuff in. I had just taken stuff OUTSIDE the green house (well, peppers, they were going back in nightly since the cold spell we had), when the sprayer came in, so I put ALL tomatoes and peppers and other plants inside. WTH, guy sprayed with a gusty EAST wind... its usually west wind... and ended up killing everything (or severely damaging) other side of the fence bordering my garden...My redbud tree bloomed for the first time ever... it got hit..... I had hollyhocks over there, my raspberries ... fall and summer.... strawberries had wandered over there, and my beautiful globe thistles for the bees got hit... and Dave's CBD dopes (on my side) got hit.. and look pathetic. He even had plants in pots ON his porch of the kids playhouse, next to the field, and some of them are at the point of no return. I blame of course, that ass that sprayed, but Gary, who was RIGHT OUT THERE ON THE GOLF CART, CATCHING ALL THE DRIFT FOR ONE THING, and him NOT saying anything to the guy, when I asked Gary to tell him to stay the hell away from the fencerow , which he did NOT..... and why he was spraying in the wind anyhow?? This adds to my stress level..... and every single year I go thru this. I've been lucky its been west winds, but that day?? Its like everything is coming down all around me on purpose this year.

Sorry for the pity party rant here, but this has been my days.

To top all the crap off.... Sharp Bus Lines lost the contract for the bus runs in our area of Hamilton/dundas/flamborough... and Attridge has gained them. So... apply to them, seeing as how they have my/our runs... went for a driver evaluation drive, that went well... seems I turned a little wide twice... but I was concerned when she said their buses are 3 feet longer than the ones I've been used to driving.... I have my Z... but never driven an air brake school bus, so got a crash course on that too.... now have to attend in person First Aid.... have to download ZOOM on my computer, to attend Defensive Driving course.... (oh... I guess I need a friggen camera and microphone???)..... and do 20 hours of online safety courses before going to pick up bus/run... that is apparently after all this bull crap NOT a sure thing after all. "Oh, we try to give drivers their runs, but we cannot guarantee this.... I'm thinking that they will let THEIR drivers pick from all the new routes first..... ugh.....I'm getting from Melissa.... "My daycare lady is moving to Brantford... will you watch Maren 3 days a week".. she will pay me the same as her daycare lady... $40 a day?? That will hardly pay the bills...... I really need to get the hell off this place occasionally and get back to some sort of normal routine..... so going thru this right now.

I caught a coon in the trap in the silage pit.... then got one in the lane... but theres another one out here, that DID get in the trap finally, but pried its way out of a $200 live trap, and totally bent the lid severe enough, its screwed now, to ever work again. It did try and work its way out by the dirt and grass it clawed in, but not for very long. MAKES me so mad, Geezus.

Well, I see dry patches in the laneway under the trees.. so it didn't rain that much, think I'll go outside and do nothing right now. My iris were beautiful this year, but nearly done. Leek moth is here, and when you try and tell someone on a gardening site, that the point of growing garlic is for the bulb.... when shes trying to tell someone else battling it, that the lacing on the leaves is minimal.... and 'nothing'... if your going to eat the leaves... OMG.. you get called out because your post was AGGRESSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would really like to see her in person, and show her what aggressive means. Here is the post.

I really should not bother answering gardening posts or otherwise, clearly I know NOTHING, and the snowflakes in this day and age can go .. you know where!

Ok... think I'm about done for another month or so, lol. Hope everyones summer goes well!

Had a nice cycle in Kingston this morning and as well as the usual urban wildlife, there were 2 jennys with 8 poults having a morning stroll in a neighbourhood by the golf course. Not too surprised, this area is bounded by Lake Ontario park, the golf course, St. Lawrence college and the fields and wetlands south of Collins Bay prison. Nice change from all the Canada geese!

How lovely to see the turkeys this morning Brebis!

The best I could do was to see a turtle laying her eggs (thankfully not near our pond, which is stocked with goldfish). Hopefully, the neighbours can protect the eggs from predators, as they usually get dug up and devoured by a skunk or raccoon.

Too funny Farrier! That reminds me that I have a picture like that of a labra-hog with her head in a bag of dog food - sigh!

We used to put a bucket on a sheep’s head to keep it from going anywhere, they never did seem to figure out how to get it off!!
