My Showgirl cockeral just started to crow about 3 weeks ago. He sounds like someone is stepping on his toes.

He's is also attempting to mate.......so, he grabs the young pullets head, so they are head-to-head then humps the ground...OMG....I can't stop laughing and he looks at me funny cause all the girls squat for me. All I have to do is walk by

Mind and body going is one thing, but people who want to be done for because someone has always done for them or because they feel they are owed, are quite another. F.I.L. once pouted in bed all day because hubby accidentally bought him the next size up of incontinence product. He had enough of the right ones to last him a few days until we could get the correct size, but he wanted to make a point and threw a tantrum. His mind is as fine as it ever was (which isn't saying much), and his body works pretty good too, or so the dr.s say. Pull-ups are actually a convenience for him as opposed to a necessity. He literally simply doesn't want the hassle of multiple bathroom trips, especially at night. Compassion can only extend so far to some people, and making a huge deal about diapers is probably not the hill most of us would pick to die on...but an undeserved sense of entitlement doesn't just magically go away with getting older... so when caregivers draw lines, certain individuals will up the ante. It's a way to shame and manipulate, and it's not acceptable whether you're 2 years old or 102.

@windwalkingwolf you have me totally confused about the "well behaved" turkeys! Currently #87, Mumsy, is raising Mark 2 Hellbeasts. Mum is a Mark 1 Hellbeast and she has taught them to sit on the table, chairs etc. and generally be demanding. Tweeps stuck her head over the edge of the table a couple of days ago and grabbed Vians toast off the plate.
roflmbo I ate CAKE on your patio, in full view of twenty free-ranging chickens and turkeys, and didn't once have to bat away any "hellbeasts"! Actually, the one Jen waited patiently and gave me puppy eyes until I gave her some crumbs! And yes, I noted your disapproval. I promise not to do it again 😃
I like to feed things, and I tend to be too indulgent of bad behaviour, so I don't often eat outside. In a juxtaposition, when hungry I don't share well, AT ALL, so at home I must put the hairy beast beggers outside during meals roflmbo
Edited to say that the "bad behaviour" is all mine :rubbingchin:

Good morning,
I sense a trend there that's hard to miss, misbehaving animals easy to indulge, humans not so much
must be because the animals are so much easier to get along with and don't expect much ;)

Had a couple visiting with puppy for socialization purposes, ( for the puppy, too late for the humans)
as per usual, it is much easier to train a 10 week old puppy to simple commands, then people with post secondary education......not a first time I observed that :idunno:

not as long as you stay 2 M away from me, with Addy you will have to take your chances ;)

Addy's inoculations aren't completed yet, so we have started with city people who don't have as much animal contact, we call them the "expendable crew members" we save the more important people for later on ;)
