no delivery here.....doubtful even uber would come out here. AND the food WOULD be cold....LOL. we go out if we want because it's a nice break. let someone else do the dishes. sure, i could cook better than they can, and cheaper, but sometimes it's nice to just not bother.

i'm starting to experience the same feeling my grandparents told me about when they could get a candy bar for 25 cents. and now it's almost 2$!!!!! sheesh.
Same here, going out for a meal is a nice break, unfortunately I can cook better them most restaurants and the ones that cook better then me, we can't afford ;)

I used to laugh at my great aunt when she commented on what prices used to be....
now I hear her voice in my head as I think OMG I remember when......

Marketplace did a show about those kind of deliveries. They looked into the quality of the food, as well as the cost. It usually turns out to be more expensive than if you went to the restaurant, and in some cases the take out meal didn't include the same items as you would have gotten in the restaurant.

"Skip the Dishes" - What's in a name? Delivery is delivery.
Then there is the kind where you can order, and get delivered, all the ingredients to make the meal at home. That would eliminate the decision making and planning process for some people.

Am I that old? Chocolate bar was 10 cents about 1960, same for a pop. and two cents deposit on the bottles. If you could find five bottles in the ditch walking 3 miles to the store, you could get a free chocolate bar or pop. But you had to drink the pop "in" or pay two cents deposit which didn't compute. Anybody remember Cuban lunch? Chocolate and peanuts. Pie Face was another, Eatmore, and even one called Chicken Dinner. I have no idea where that name cam from for a chocolate bar. It was a lot like an Oh Henry, but not as dense.

Babe Ruth was my brother's fav. Can't get it here anymore, but now he can get it in Oz. Go figure. For years that was a treat that I could send him a big load of for Xmas.
