RIP Big Momma

Post by Happy » Sun Oct 13, 2019 8:46 pm

So much for getting ahead of Big Momma's fall sickness 🙁.

I thought we had a handle on it but she passed away this evening minutes after I went out to put them in for the evening. She had a very putrid smell to her breath the past two days (not like sour crop...more like a rotting smell) but her crop was normal size. She had been eating but very selectively.
She was a tough old girl with a lot of character. Second in command in the coop her entire 8 years and right up to the end. Her sister Bitchy is the brains and Big Momma was the muscle. The coop won't be the same without her.
RIP my old friend.

Sorry to hear about Big Momma.
The ones that have lots of character and "oomph" are the ones that we miss the most.
