I saw this ad on Kijiji today. Think they will get any replies? What can you do with over 5000 old red chickens?

I am looking for small old red butchered chicken. No roosters. I am looking to buy 5000 + chickens. looking to pay about two dollars per chicken.

Well, it costs more than $2.00 a bird to have them processed, so good luck to that guy. I think Killerbunny is right--the Asian market like their chicken quite a bit chewier than westerners. I work with some Filipinos that are always looking for old stewing hens (or mature boar pig, UGGGHHHH). About the only time westerners eat old red hen is when we open a can of Campbell's chicken noodle soup--that's where spent layers tend to end up, soup and also ground chicken. "formed chicken" is sometimes made from spent hens, essentially ground up then pressed back together with binding ingredients into chicken nuggets.

Yuck! I quit eating Campbell's chicken soup a long time ago. I can't see anyone supplying them chickens for only $2.00 each.

These are spent layers from factory farms.
I am going to guess their processing fees are pretty low.
Realistically speaking, at least they get used for something, rather then disposed of in some other less palatable way.
