Some of the Chicks

Post by KimChick » Tue Jul 02, 2019 3:27 pm

Thought I should post a photo of my chicks! Although they are now 5 weeks old. I had never kept track of how long it takes chicks to get used to going into the coop at night, but these little guys were all in the coop the fifth night; so, it only took 4 nights of training. The Barred Rocks are obvious with no feathers on their feet (just what I wanted), not like the black and tan chick in the forefront with mega feathers on his feet.
Some of the chicks at 4 weeks.

The one with the feathered legs looks like he's wearing bell-bottoms. They all look healthy, from what I can see. Nice chicks.

Definitely have more cockerels than I would want. At least more than half being females would be wonderful. We'll be keeping a barred rock cockerel and the others will probably join the meat chickens in the freezer.
