OK you poultry experts,
I have a Mr Snake living under my patio and we live in more or less harmony and accept for the occasional frog legs he leaves behind is pretty inoffensive, if somewhat biggish and we do a bit of a dance when we meet on the steps going up to the patio, before we decide who has right of way.
Today the dog was a bit preoccupied by one of the entry holes so I went to check, and what at firs glance appeared to be a mushroom cap in the hole turned out to be an egg, that possibly the snake was bringing home and couldn't get thru the front door???????

Egg on left is a Wyandotte egg, egg on right is a mystery Egg

I'd guess turkey as well, though maybe a bit small for turkey but I don't know how big wild turkey eggs are.Hatch it out and see.

Yeah right, I am pretty sure it's against some kind of a law, and what if it turns out to be full of baby snakes???

I guess this is the egg mama, I have interrupted her when she was taking a dust bath in the backyard/construction zone.

You are evil, I am so glad I sold the incubators, not sure I could resist either, but then I am sure we would have a pet turkey on our hands ;)

I didn't know snakes would steal eggs and take them back to their lair.

I thought snakes just ate on the spot. I didn't know they would carry food back for later either. What kind of snake is it?
