Guinea Hens aren't stupid

I have always been led to believe that Guinea hens were stupid. Last fall we purchased a few in hope of raising some keets and to keep the tick population at bay. At the same auction we purchased a pair of buff Brahma's, the "double wide" nest for the Brahma in attached photo. She is sitting on some eggs behind the curtain. (my daughters repurposed camo shorts
)
So, the reason i am questioning the myth of their stupidity is as follows.
Wife tells me the hen is still laying, and i commented that was unlikely as she has been on the nest steady for two weeks. So i investigate and find several Guinea eggs under the Brahma. So my wife being curious monitors the situation closely. She observes the Guinea hen enter the double wide nest in the morning to lay an egg, she exits the nest after laying the egg, and promptly the Brahma hen pulls the egg in to her nest. Meanwhile the Guinea is outside basking in the sun enjoying life...
