So I've just sold 2 pair of silkies in the attempt to reduce numbers to just my breeders.
So I see for sale a pair I sold in the fall up for sale. I feel bad and want to buy them back, how foolish is that. I would probably buy them back if he puts the price down to what I sold them to him for, mind you I keep saying to myself well he did keep them all winter. This I know is nutty, I do not need or want this pair, butttt.

Yup, I know how you feel. A couple of times I've had Sellers remorse when things haven't turned out well for the birds BUT I don't buy back because of disease risk.

Yes the disease risk is a thing but I do have a place of isolation for them if necessary.
They loved them at first saying how the daughter was carrying them around everywhere. I guess her interest has waned, so now the birds must go, how sad is that.

Very sad. :-( My vote is: Negotiate down to the price you sold them for (if possible anonymously) and buy them back.

That is sad and I think it's admirable that you feel responsible for them even after a period of time. Every spring I have to tell myself that there are LOTS of great chicken keepers out there and LOTS of great homes. Without that mantra I would never rehome any of them because I somehow guilt myself into believing I am kicking them out of paradise and I would have about 30 roosters milling about lol. Maybe their next new home will be their forever home.

Yes and many of mine are in great homes! Had a chat with one turkey girl yesterday in fact!

If it were me, I would buy them back. But by now you all know I have no sense when it comes to silkies
