An interesting read.

What some already know, others do know but don't want too and some just don't know.

Sandy, yeah i read that. What i dont get, is that the very first time i read anything about GMO I knew instictively that it was a horror show in the making. Something that we shoud never ever embark on. Just follow the money. The USDA and Health Canada and all the spineless politicians along the way find ways to rationalize accepting it because they just cant say NO to the money carrot dangling in front of their greedy pointy beady eyed lying faces. Like really! Develop a strain of corn that is totally resistant to Roundup so you can spray that particular poison at ever increasing doses all over the crops and fields. And if you remember, when Roundup first came out they sold us on it by saying it broke down quickly in the one growing season under sunlight....they knew it didnt. When will we learn?

We, the public have so much MORE knowledge now than we did in the 90's. Honestly I don't remember when BT/GMO came out. I was pretty young then. Cough cough. Not saying you're ancient or anything. Not Out loud.

Greed is king. Greed rules. Greedy are the richest. Always the way.

Anyways, look what we know today. What we know today is scientific proof! It's frigging proof of the damage. Bees. Amphibians. Butterflies. All our key indicator species couldn't tell us a scarier stories if Stephen King wrote it himself.

I'm going to go back to the same old saying. Consumers have way more power than we think. If we buy all that GMO corn and soy (which is all the products they make with it) then they need to make more. If we don't they sit on inventory. Produce sections of grocery stores are the smallest section. Always. Boxed and readily made food is where most people are today.

It's a hard topic for me to not go off the deep end so I'll walk away and let Baron take over on this heavy topic. Haha!

One of my deciding factors on getting chickens was their feed availability. It needed to be non-GMO and soy free. Not available, I wouldn't have chickens. If I couldn't do better than what I consider inadequate, I wasn't going to do it.

Heres a song all about it by Sepultura (heavy metal) released in 1993... pretty much sums up what I have to say about it. if you cant stand metal I understand, just turn the volume down and read the lyrics.

Al, It's very hard. Agreed. Lou is my venting board. Often I wake him during the night to vent. We have a different schedule for sleeping hours. He's the most tolerant man there is of my venting shenanigans. If I'm watching a documentary or he sees my nose in certain books or peaks at what I'm reading on my iPad he gets his smart as*ed jabs in and will say 'better hit the hay, have a feeling I'll be at the kitchen table later'

It's a frustration beyond my expression-able capabilities. There's a few artists I listen too that touch on our environmental disasters like Imagine Dragons but not too much in my preference for music.
