Red Jungle Fowl

Post by Allan » Sun Mar 24, 2019 8:46 pm

Does anyone here keep Red Jungle Fowl? I got 4 at a month old and they are now 8 weeks. Interested in others experiences with them. I was able to tell their sex at like 5-6 weeks, two Roos and two pullets. I’ve noticed that they seem to be very hardy and energetic. They have warmed up to me over time, but when I first got them they would run to the corner and hide their faces from me until I left lol. Now they hop right up on the perch and look me right in the eye. They remind me of a velociraptor...not that I’ve raised many of those, but I mean they are quirky compared to my domestics and seem to be very intelligent. I watched one of the little Roos purposely stomp his foot down on the feed pan and hold it because it was starting to flip up when they were eating! Also interested in any tips or recommendations with them.
Thanks

Thank you! I can’t wait until the rooster colours up. I’ve seen the parent stock and they are beautiful!
