Re: Yippee!!!!
Awesome, @TomK ! It's still only Deanie laying here, but I'm ever hopeful that Biscuit will be starting up again any day now ... and maybe the other two slackers. Gracie's retired for sure and I think Penelope may be too.

I stopped looking for eggs thinking why bother wasn't getting any, moved a bale of hay and low and behold found a whole wack of eggs. Course mostly frozen but now at least I know to look. Congratulations on your pretty green egg.

I have been getting several eggs a day since late January, in spite of the cold weather. Not all hens are laying yet. I will have way too many eggs when that happens. Yesterday I got 5 eggs from the pullets.

I still have 2 pullets from September not even showing any signs of thinking of paying their rent yet!

Re: Yippee!!!!
Hatched in September would put them at only just over 5 months old, though, and there's still only about 10 1/2 hours of daylight - sunrise 7:00, sunset 5:34 today.
Just saying ...

I think I'll be waiting until March before I start wondering about my pullet (born September 9).

Re: Yippee!!!!
My Wyandotte pullets are laying (last June hatch), but the Ameraucanas have given up the good fight.
"Solo" who is going to be 2 years old in June, is laying about one egg per week,
all the rest, 3, 4 and 5 years old, nothing since October I think.
I may keep couple for broodies ( really one and one for company), but I am afraid that's the end of the Ameraucas for me, whole winter with no eggs is a deal breaker and it will be stock pot for them at the end of summer.
