Re: This weather SUCKS
Oh, sorry about your girl Kenya, I hope she gets over it quickly, and that the weather levels out!
Nobody has gotten sick here yet, touch wood, but I lost my tiny old hen, Betty...she was out ranging on a nice(ish) day, and just seemingly dropped dead. When she wasn't in the coop at close-up, I didn't think anything of it, because sometimes she snuck into the barn to be with her favourite bachelor. But I found her next morning, stiff on the ground, just five feet from the coop door It looked like she just sat down to take a nap, and never got up. I hate that part.

I hope your hen gets well soon Kenya. The weather is certainly extreme. We are experiencing freezing rain today. The past few days were so cold here, especially at night and today it's 1 above.

Well my poor little girl died, I thought she was a little better last night but died this morning around 9. It was a beautiful little white silkie pullet, one of my best from last year. I kick myself for not noticing sooner. Since about a month old I knew she was going to be good, well I'll never see her first egg, she'll never see a show. Makes me cry.

Oh no, Kenya! I'm so sorry to hear that she passed. I'm sure there was nothing that could have been done that you didn't do. She was warm and well cared for.
