Ha! Ha! Ha! I put my tomatoes behind fencing and still caught them in with them. I'm sure they were saying " Oh this is just perfect, so nice of her to section this off just for us."

I've been busy selling chicks, hatched over a hundred chicks so far and have to go about reducing the numbers, so any little faults visible was sold. Some pretty cute chicks had to go, I hated to let them go because they were still going to be stunning but no way do I want to keep 100 so I had to be ruthless and start whiddling down the numbers, but wouldn't it be cute to see 100 silkies roaming in the back yard. All different colours just like cotton candy. :sighke1:

Well yesterday evening went downhill fast. I was expecting Kathleen to hatch (2nd this year) Wed/ Thurs but she must have hatched during the day Monday. I leave her grid off so she can get in and out and in a very short time I guess the youngsters realised something was up and got 2 new poults out and "played" with them. They were both still alive but I had to out them down. :sighke1: :sighke1:
She has more eggs under her and at least one poult but this was totally my fault. She won't leave the eggs to protect wanderers. We'll see what today brings. These are her eggs by HD.

So better news this am. Kathleen has 4 bouncing babies. So of the 7 eggs she had 6 hatched and one was rollered while hatching. 4 is plenty to look after for her.

Aw snap, that's too bad about the two you had to put down, KB. Glad there was a much better outcome today. 😊

Good morning,
Hot and humid again, being invaded by family and all sundry this aft, was hoping they could all visit on the OUTSIDE of the house, the weatherman not cooperating on the one day I ended to be at least dry :rain:

Kestrels are bringing out a second batch of young and have unfortunately chose my house and barn for the training grounds, so every morning starts with a chorus of really annoyed crows, almost instantly followed by very low flyovers by the "Kestrel family", I hope we aren't on their fast food route.
Have a good one!
