so the burning question for @ross is...how are you going to get the egg down from on TOP of the screen in the second last photo? LOL
that's great news ross! so nice when there's less pain and more functionality!!!! yay! keep on truckin!
rainy day today. i expect (and hope) to see grass up really really soon!!!! i hope!!!! horses have spring fever. nothing like 2000 pounds x 2 running top speed down the paddock to jolt one out of a sleep in the morning thinking you are having an earthquake. guess the ground is finally thawing!

It appears that the pilot project for keeping urban chickens in Gatineau has been successful enough to warrant adding more flocks.

Good morning,
Thunderstorm overnight, sounds a bit different in the mountains, for a moment I thought there was a plane landing in the backyard.
@ross glad you are mobile and sensibly taking it easy ;)
@Killerbunny afraid to ask DH if there are day lilies at our place yet, just in case they are still under 2 feet of snow :)
@Jaye it sounds like they are going about it the right way in Gatineau, I have always though that if you allowed Urban chickens, it would have to be done by a Permit. Although I am less than enamored by City interfering in citizen's lives, there is just too much room for peoples interpretation of how chickens should be kept, and a first case of the bylaw abuse would spell the end of the whole thing for everybody.

I thought we were sworn to secrecy about the carrot cake? I'll post the recipe, it's very easy and full of nuts, pineapple and coconut too.
