OC , you are correct a change is coming in the weather here in the Fraser Valley. The boss has just spent 4 days spreading compost on the corn fields. The foolish man then commented we should get the seeder and tarps out for planting. I shook my head and walked away RAINY April is around the corner was my comment, Enjoy your stay in lotus land

I am a grateful guest to your beautiful province, and for this Ontarian, this is as perfect as it gets in March :)BobG wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 9:32 amOC , you are correct a change is coming in the weather here in the Fraser Valley. Re: Good Morning!
sorry to hear KB. sigh.
our weather finally looks like it's shaping up a little bit. spring work needs to start soon! a good thorough cleaning and mite treatments and sweeping and dry stalling the horse stalls, and cleaning water troughs and buckets (pressure washer job) and all that good stuff. good honest day's work. just takes me a little longer than a good day now LOL usually a couple of weeks. soon time for fruit tree planting. need to get the dormant spray out soon for the already established ones. i like spring. i like winter, but i've had enough of it this year. hasn't been horrendous or anything, just i'm done. nice to see the sun the last couple of days! alas i am down to getting 1 turkey egg per day. in february i was getting 5-6 at least. so i think they're all messed up this year. i will likely drop back to just the royals. none of the red eggs are fertilized apparently. means my boy is "defective" or something. lol.
and my red slates are sitting. and sitting and sitting and will likely never get up....
oh well. maybe i'll give her a couple poults for a few days to break her of the sitting. except she is NOT a good mother.
puppy made her first fetch in the barn! i've been scaring off the starlings and sparrows..and well, one didn't fly fast enough and got got. so there's hope she'll help with the hunting thing for hubby! she's still super cute. and can disintegrate a piece of firewood into toothpicks in about 10 minutes. quite impressive. (takes me 2 hours to clean up after 10 minutes of hard work by her!). hoping to take a bit of holidays soon so i can have time to work on the landscaping and get the seeds planted and stuff....moving some fencing (horse is eating the fruit trees over the fence because the trees are bigger), stuff like that. but ground needs to thaw first!
hope everyone is having a great day!

Re: Good Morning!
A whole full dozen eggs yesterday. Nobody broody, but I would expect soon. Little goats growing like everything, seem to double in size every couple days, will be ready to wean in a few more weeks, haven't found a home for them yet. Dulcinaya is taking a bit to dry up, due end of April and I am still milking her twice a week. Don't know if my back is going to let me have a garden this year or not. Can't wait for green grass for the goats and little horse.

Sorry to hear you lost a girl @Killerbunny
That must have been kind of confusing finding her like that.
