Re: Good Morning!
so she was the only one available from the litter. it was a farm and a neighbour farm wanted another puppy each, so they bred their dogs and each kept a puppy each. then the other 2 were private (not advertised) sales to other friends, and this was #5 from the litter. but we did go and meet her to make sure that she actually liked us, and she did, she came right over and bounced around and sat on my feet and sat on DH's feet and kept coming back and checking us out, and at one point the daughter wanted her to come and play and she stayed sitting on my feet LOL. so.....chosen. i'm a firm believer that the dog picks the people too. and the people selling her also were like that, and said "yep, i think she likes you guys too". she does a great job of fussing when she needs out. but she's a tad noisy at night time....argh. so tonight we will run her around and get her all tired right before going to bed. and see how that goes. yep, a cutie....and fitting right in quite well. and no fear-she fetches well too! and discovered that she can climb the manure pile and see for miles LOL and definitely likes our other dog, she was laying down beside him last night, being gentle....lol. off to call the vet and make the appointment, i think i'm going to move both dogs closer to our more local (new) clinic. it's only 10 minutes away yay!

Stopped into my local feed store today and picked up a Frey's Hatchery price list.
They are now offering Ready-to-Lay Ameraucanas.

Re: Good Morning!
What is their description? Are they advertising them as blue egg layers or green/blue etc? Wondering because PP states his are Easter Eggers.

"Ameraucana (blue egg layer)"
Have to order a "minimum of 4 total. Orders of 2 will be accepted if combined with a minimum of 4 other ready-to-lay".
It also says "that these will be available for your June shipment only".

Re: Good Morning!
Certainly easier then picking up at Performance Poultry, if you don't mind beak trimmed birds, pretty convenient having them delivered to your feed store.

Re: Good Morning!
They don't have the facilities to raise them from day olds. I think even if they're green eggers they wouldn't be too upset.Ontario Chick wrote: ↑Wed Feb 27, 2019 2:47 pmCertainly easier then picking up at Performance Poultry, if you don't mind beak trimmed birds, pretty convenient having them delivered to your feed store.

Re: Good Morning!
If I'm not mistaken, I think you can request that they do not trim beaks. I'm going to look that up.... nope, couldn't see anything on the handout. It said that all RTL's get their beaks trimmed.Ontario Chick wrote: ↑Wed Feb 27, 2019 2:47 pmCertainly easier then picking up at Performance Poultry, if you don't mind beak trimmed birds, pretty convenient having them delivered to your feed store.

Re: Good Morning!
When I got my first birds from them (quite a while ago now) it truly was only a trim and the beaks grew back after a while in all except one. None had any problem eating or grooming.
