Favorite and unfavorite Christmas songs

Post by Farrier1987 » Thu Dec 06, 2018 11:20 am

I am thinking each of us has a favorite Christmas song/carol and it might be fun to share. We each get to list one of each, and a link to a nice version if we wish.

For mine to start, I CANNOT STAND Wayne Newton and Please Daddy don't get Drunk this Christmas.

And I really like this version of Mary's Boy Child

I shudder any time I hear "Santa Baby", no matter who's singing it.
And this one is also cringe-worthy:

Not sure what to pick as my favourite really, but I like this one:

my favorite - Grandma got run over by a reindeer - by the Irish Rovers

what I hate - the country music version of any Christmas songs (and I do like some country music (Brad Paisley, Phil Vassar, Nitty Gritty Dirt band (fishin in the dark), Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Terri Clark, Trace Adkins and many more but Christmas music - its like nails on a chalk board)

Like: Not exactly a Christmas song, but it was recorded on one of his Xmas albums, so it counts. I find most of his Xmas music thoroughly enjoyable.

Dislike: Grandma got run over by a reindeer (By Elmo and Patsy) roflmbo drives me bananas.

I'm with @ross

I'm cheating though and putting one more favorite. Not a real Christmas Carole but an awesome childhood memory for me. I watch this Christmas special from my childhood every year

Least favorite...everything else. Its December 6th and I work in a store. I've heard the loop about 100:times already. Don't judge me!

@Happy - very cute! We watch Muppets Xmas Carol every year. They changed the music where I worked to a Sirius system and the had office was in the states. I hated that xmas music and still do when I go in there. Don't know how to describe it but it is very "white bread US" (no disrespect to any US members. You can almost see the buzz cut scrubbed males in a line singing.
Just ATM I am getting really sick of Feliz Navidad.
@ross we used to live in Salisbury and hearing any choir sing in the Cathedral is spine chilling, wonderful.

Wow , yep the best KB . When I sang in the church choir (Baptist) was always a joy . Still sing (solo) at odd funeral .
