Unnerving.

Post by Skinny rooster » Sat Oct 06, 2018 1:08 pm

I got home from work last night late, I forgot to leave any lights on but everything was fine. This morning a guy stopped in looking for my neighbour's phone number. They use the house as a cottage, there is a heavy steel gate that stops you from driving in their lane when they are away and boulders to prevent you from getting around it. Last night someone used a truck or something to bust the thick posts and steel gate to get in. They are close enough that if I went out during the night I would have heard the commotion. It creeps me out that it happened next door, that who ever did it must be local and that they are watching. Makes me wonder if they are trying to figure out weather I am home or not.

I agree or sensor lights that light up the whole drive, scare them off.

Lights....cameras...

I got a text a few years back from people at the end of the road saying a car drove in and took off when they went out....2 minutes later it drove up my driveway....casing the neighbourhood. Car was reported with plates to the police...apparently they were casing everything out, seeing who was home and who wasnt. Thankfully we were both home on vacation time. Hate to think if we hadnt been.

Hope they can figure out who did it....

Definitely unnerving! The other day, DH said he saw a vehicle slow down in front of our house, with 2 young guys looking out the window. Then he saw the same vehicle do it again, coming from the other direction a few minutes later.

I've been broken into 3 times in my current home while I was living here alone. Each time was in broad daylight. Lights don't mean a thing. The last time it happened they drove their car around my house, backed up to my back deck, kicked the back door in and cleaned up. I finally got smart and put cameras up. I'm pretty sure I know who was responsible for at least 2 of the break-ins so don't think that it's always a stranger. We now have 6 exterior cameras and 3 interior that run 24/7.

Get some cameras. My neighbor is home all the time and watches our house. On one hand it's great on the other...no so great. Dogs will help, but they just put them into a room and close the door. Good you were home! So sad we need to think this way!

Spotlights, electric fence, a big dog and surveillance cameras! The last one is just so you have something entertaining to watch later😆

Well today just sucks and OC isn't going to like this. It looks like we got robbed last night. We are behind a set of gates and a fence but the gate closure was left up by the "perp". All Vians tools are missing from the back of the van but the birds and house are all OK. He is double checking at work to make sure somebody didn't play idiot for a joke. A lot of the stuff is very identifiable including a $1000 test meter.
