Thanksgiving ....

What are you cooking?
Few years ago I started to use only food produced at home for Thanksgiving ( wine excluded)
and it made me realize just how much we produce and also how much extra food I buy for holidays apparently because of an impression we might run out of food & starve.
It sure makes you feel Thankful when you are able to serve food you produced.

I have 23 for "lupper". We wanted to ensure everyone from each of our families could make it this year and Monday was the only day that worked. But we also have several with a drive back to university or home so an early meal works. Still doing turkey with all the trimmings and ham but will cook them the day before to make our time-line. I wish I could say all the food came from my back yard but I'm just not that good yet! I'm still in that mode of "buy extra of everything as we may starve" and I've got 2 vegetarians in the family that I always worry won't have enough selection lol.
I love Thanksgiving leftovers and if there's too much I just throw it all into a big pot of soup.

Time marched on for us this summer and Don's business took off and he's hired 2 people since June and still works 6 or 7 days a week. So we haven't got 1/4 of the jobs done on our list. Plan B is spring. Plan C is Punta Cana lol.

We'll have almost everything for our feast local. I belong to a CSA share and they have had some wonderful veggies this year. Our last share is this coming Wednesday packed full of all the stuff we need for Thanksgiving....my personal favorite holiday.

My favourite too. It is like the Harvest Festival we used to have in the U.K. Delta had a Harvest Festival Village thingy going on yesterday too.
