Fairy Fart

Post by TomK » Sun Sep 23, 2018 10:50 am

Well well..sometime this morning one of the new BCMs started...early May hatch so it's cose to the right timing...wondering if the paint job changes... this one is darker than the average brown egg but not on the 'deep' brown scale...think this may become a 'project'.. :run:

Sadly, mine aren't young'uns but 18 months old. I hope it doesn't mean that they are approaching the end of their egg-laying lives!

I read up about these little eggs and learned that they only contain albumen - interesting. Guess I cannot palm one off on the dogs......

Sometimes they contain a tiny yolk too, but usually if they are very small, it's egg white only. If you don't mind me asking, why can't you palm one off on your dogs? My dog likes the white by itself as well as the yolk by itself.

Raw egg whites aren't good for dogs because they can cause a biotin deficiency. Of course I could cook it for them and then it would be ok, but it would hardly be worth it! A whole raw egg is fine as the yolk balances the white :).

Okay, thanks for the info nugget - good to know. I always feed my dog steamed eggs, so it's a non-issue here.
