I don't know if I'm putting this in the right section or not but I have a few questions about the for sale section. I don't see very many, I don't see photos, I don't see user/ seller name, am I not looking in the right spot? Don't want to appear stupid but am I missing something?

On the home page. Click PTO Classifieds. You can search or browse or go to a specific category (roosters, or hens or whatever). Users can post up to 4 photos per ad, if they want....there's 10 pages there if you click "browse"-it only lists about 8 per page, at the bottom of the list there's pages that you can click on to go to the next page in the lower right corner....from there click on the listing (the blue heading) and you will see the sellers name, description, photos, and if you reply it goes through email directly to the person selling. i hope this helps....
we also auto-prune the listings every 3 months, so there aren't a bunch of old out of date listings....
when you click on browse, what you see is just a snapshot of the first couple of lines of the listing, you have to click on the blue heading to get to the whole listing....

I liked the ads on PSO - you could see who replied to them. Older ads, and replies to ads, might help you find someone who has or had what you are looking for.

I found problem with old ads on pso was you could also reply on open mike & alot of down grading done on price or guality . This way yu just reply to seller/buyer by pm & no open discussion by folks who thought theres were better or just wanted to cut up price or guality & so on if yu get my drift . Like this better . Luck

Not sure if its me or my computer or what, but I get zero pictures. Someone said in their ad something about see the second pic, but I didnt have any that I could see, and looked for a tab to click.

thats a direct link to the classifieds section. Farrier I found the add that talks about pic 1 and pic 2 but there are no pics uploaded to the add. some adds have pics n some do not...
now it could be possible your not logged into the home page properly. the home page uses the same login as the forum but should automatically give you the option of linking your forum login to the homepage... that might be why you couldnt see the pics. let me know and we'll go from there.
If your logged in properly from a computer your avatar and username will show at the top right, if logged in from a mobile device your avatar and username will show closer to the bottom.

I do agree that the PSO ads were better as well. Yes, there was always too much banter on them, but I liked not having to head to a different page to find them. When they were on the forum, I could always just click on Today's Posts (or New Posts) and any new ones would come up with the new forum posts. I just liked the one-stop-shop option. If it were back on the forum, you'd have to allow only pm replies as opposed to forum replies. Just my two cents.

For the sake of the memory usage (we want to keep this forum free)-pictures on the sales ads, and pruning of ads (which is easier this way-otherwise we have to delete entire topics in the forum) we have decided to use this format. This way we can also attract companies that might want to advertise with us and not have to enter into the forum where their posting would quickly move to the bottom of the listings unless they constantly come in and bump the listing, which will also waste memory for us. this way, they are searchable easily by type of birds wanted. Allowing PM option only means that a moderator would have to approve every single listing before it could be posted, and manually lock that topic and then manually delete it once the sales are complete. I don't know about you guys, but i don't have that time on my hands. Not locking the threads means potential moderating nightmares, again a huge time invest. Remember there are only 3 of us moderating, and 2 of us are also admins...just my 2 cents on the topic.
