It must be frustrating to show at this time of year, I was thinking about this because of something funny I saw yesterday. My beautiful rooster lost a couple of feathers from his tail last week, he is at the age of first molting but still looked good.... that is until yesterday when I went in to feed him, his tail completely fell out over night with only two feathers sticking out, it was pretty funny looking. I was thinking what if he was a show rooster that I wanted to show this week, game over unless I could pretend it's the new naked bottom breed, cousin of the naked necks! Lol
I see why people only try to show the six to eight months old chickens.

Re: Naked neck, naked bottom?
Well my Mums (turkeys) decided that they wanted 2 broods this year and with the OPB show at the end of October I could be showing naked or very scruffy turkeys1
