Well, I know nothing about SOP on BC Marans, but to my eye he is stunning!

It doesn't do that to me Tom.
I'm same as Jaye...I don't have a clue about the breed but I think he's a handsome devil!

When I click on the pic, it is sideways, but if I right click and open in a new tab, it's fine  But it's a better picture than I can take!
Less than three months old?! He's actually quite astonishing for a boy that young! Not my breed, and I've hardly any experience with Marans, but if you want my opinion, I'll give it to you roflmbo A little long through the back, maybe, I think (hard to tell), but if he is, he'll probably grow into it. General shape seems very good, very Marans-y :) He's so young! More concerning is the copper pattern in his breast, I think it's supposed to be solid black, but maybe that will molt out, I don't know. He's still got a couple months before his final adult colour. I think he's missing a comb point, or maybe it's the angle of his head? I only count four.
OK, now that I've (probably incorrectly) picked him apart, I think he's blocky and gorgeous, and still a chick basically, so I've no idea how he'll finish up.

shows sideways for me and not distorted, too when clicking on it.
Having been here for a bit I am sure you know that the software we are using has it's challenges with getting pictures turned right side up. I have installed a new helper with that a month or so ago and it's working a lot better. But it's still not getting everything right.

I have trouble with some pics stretching sideways when I click on them to see them. I’m on an older IPad.
Sorry, to hijack your post Tom! He looks very handsome!
