Had a request from MJ for some baby potatoes last night for dinner..as usual i missed the part where she specified the purple Russian and just went and dug a hill of Red Pontiac...I was kinda wondering what I would find as this has been a dry year and the plants were pretty 'toppy'....well i was pleased with what i found but on presentation I was corrected and sent back for the other kind...the Purple Russian isnt a large potato but oh so good...full of flavour and a creamy texture..attached a pic of what came out of a hill of each

Looks good TomK. You have some nice potatoes there. My husband dug up some red potatoes last weekend that I baked on the apple wood fire with steaks and roasted veggies. Yum! Yum! He planted red and yukon gold. The potatoes have done well here this year. Actually our whole garden is doing well. I love the fresh food from the garden and look forward to it every year. We have had the right amount of rain and sun this year.
