So, I very carefully planned my hatch to happen on Saturday March 17th! So, I first would be home and 2nd not text my partner 1000 texts during the day....I'm sure you all know those text.
...how many pipped, was it a silkie egg or the ee.....

So, I start looking with the Big flash light Friday night - nothing- Saturday - nothing- I know for sure I have a silkie in the shell and I have 2 BCM eggs...so, who knows! I think, no I know that silkie is going to hatch.....you can't have just 1 chick, can you? I find some....an hour there and back....I have 3 little chicks in my brooder....Saturday night - nothing- 5 am Sunday morning nothing- crest fallen by Sunday afternoon I figure I should candle the eggs....open the bator, candle the eggs. - nothing- something must have gone wrong. Go upstairs to report the sad news. Decide I should pull the incubator apart.. Go downstairs....wait! There's a pip! YIKES I opened the incubator come pounding up the stairs for a water mister.....mist the eggs close the bator thinking I killed them :rip:
Checked the bator 100x Sunday night -nothing- spent a sleepless night...cause I killed them.
Go down stairs Monday morning - nothing-.. I did kill them :dunno:
I started talking to the bator.
.I'm so sorry....darn bator answered back...peep, peep peep :stars:
I didn't kill them!
Went to work Monday morning...and started texting......how many hatched :HappyDance:

roflmbo
I've hatched twice this spring, once with incubator and once with a broody...both hatches were 3 days late. One chick was SIX DAYS late, and no, I didn't count wrong. Very weird.
