Some people are deleting their facebook accounts due to this breach. How do you folks feel about this? Are you one of them?

I never FBd because I didn't trust them! I did an account under an alias maybe 8 years ago and made it all private but suddenly I was bombarded with people I might know? just deleted the lot then!

Nope, not deleting. Targeting propaganda at me doesn't work, anymore than the advertisement s do. and I tend to delete people that spread such. I once unfriended my beloved mother because she was posting "Stand up for Jesus" stuff several times a day.
I view anything with a political slant, with a lot of skepticism, and will not rely on social media, or ANY and ALL media, to be the only inputs that sways my opinions.
Facebook and Google already think I'm overweight, single and looking, unemployed homemaker that loves online video games and shopping for shoes. Their data-gathering methods are clearly faulty lol

I have an account but haven't used it in a couple of years. I have relatives and friends that spend all day telling the world how amazing their life is, and I know it's not. It's 95% BS and 5% stuff I already know. Facebook's business is data and their customers are big businesses. We are there to be sold to and that's why it's free. They monitor what you search for, which websites you visit and then show you ads related to that on your FB feed.
I won't be deleting my account, just yet :D

In addition scam artists learn when you're home, when you're not, who your family and friends are etc. People have to be careful what they post. I'm glad that I am not on it. Many people including family have tried to convince me to join. I have requested people not to post pictures of me on there, but I'm sure that there are some. That is one of the big reasons that I don't like having my picture taken.

Like any other tool just depends on how you use it . Just like on FB I've seen folks on here tell others when there going away & coming back , how many birds , critters they have , pics of bldgs etc which can be used the same as on FB . As we just found out a lot of folk on here that troll but don't participate . Just my thoughts .
A hammer can be used to build a home or maim a person . It's up to you .

Oh, and don't tell your teenage kids you're going away for the weekend. Tell them when you get back and your house is still in one piece :D
