Oooh why did I do that?
I live in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by bush, no street lights, no neighbours.... and I just spent the last hour looking up on YouTube, strange sounds and sightings from Canadian forests. Yes Ross, even big foot sightings. There was a spooky one where something is caught on the dashcam of a police cruiser driving on a highway at night. Ch, ch, chills!
Of course there are also plenty of videos where big foot runs across the road and you can see the zipper up its back.

Re: Oooh why did I do that?
There is one where the guy is frightened by a sound and the comments are funny because everyone is guessing the craziest things, when it's clearly a wolf, that sound when I think it's a mother looking for her grown pups, I hear it here often and we don't have Bigfoot lol. We do have the eastern sasquatch but they are much smaller and hardly ever eat people..... lately..... that we know of.

Re: Oooh why did I do that?
The Wendigo is a spirit or being that has an insatiable lust for human flesh. It is either a monster itself or can infect/inhabit a person. I believe it can also be a shapeshifter (human form/spirit form) and it has super human strength and endurance. It is from Native traditions and I think that there has been recorded cases, even relatively recently of people claiming of being possessed by the Wendigo. It is certainly worth a googling.

Thanks JP (I think). You know what would be terribly sad, if they actually found a sasquatch and proved it existed. It's great to have mysteries out there!

Some perfectly normal night sounds that will give you chills
At least, when I'm out at night, they give ME the chills! Especially the fox "scream", because it carries well. Startles me every time because it sounds like it's right beside me.
